I am Masaki Morishita, an independent Design Engineer specializing in Web UI design/development and typography. I strive to craft digital experiences where aesthetic precision and functional excellence are inseparable.
On the engineering side, my work is centered on the technical internals of CSS and high-level TypeScript. I have a long-standing history of contributing to the web ecosystem through various open-source projects, including WindCtrl (a variant API for Tailwind CSS), and past tools such as Stylefmt, Picostyle and 10+ PostCSS plugins.
Beyond code, I am a practicing designer dedicated to visual identity and user experience. My passion for typography led me to found 0xType, where I develop specialized fonts like 0xProto for coding and the geometric variable font Zx Gamut.
Unlike a typical design engineer who primarily bridges the gap between fields, I bring extensive professional experience as a lead designer. This background ensures that every interface I build is not only technically robust but intentionally designed from a visual and user-experience perspective.
I visited EXPO 2025 in Osaka and share my honest impressions - crowds, entry tips, family-friendly facilities, and whether it’s worth the trip.
